Orlando Dentist Testimonials

Debbie Johnson, RN/CHPN

This letter is written to you and your wonderful staff with my heartfelt gratitude for the kind, compassionate and professional care you have shown towards me in my journey to a 'new and improved me'

I have always been blessed with a beautiful smile of straight, white teeth while growing up. My smile would always be the first thing people would compliment me on. In my twenties and thirties my teeth were never a priority because I though they 'looked fine' and did not bother me. Of course, my life was always too busy to be bothered with more than the yearly trip to the dentist and the occasional crown I would have to have.

Then came pregnancy, mid-life hormones and stress all combined over the years to wear down that smile had come to take for granted. First the teeth thinned and wore down. Then they became gray and brittle and finally, they started cracking and breaking. I was told this was a normal process of aging and to accept it. Accept it? Never! I was only 49 years old - I wasn't ready to give up my smile.I then began my frantic search for a dentist who would not look upon my mouth as a gold mine but rather one who would care about me and listen to what was important to me. Many dentists later I was still discouraged with feeling the 'victim' of a lot of quick-fix patch up jobs that would not last.

I had always loved to laugh out loud and gradually began to resort to only smiling and covering my mouth all the time out of embarrassment of my teeth.I felt sad that this was the way it was to be the rest of my life - I even feared eventually losing all my teeth. One day I was lamenting my dental woes to a fellow nurse and how I could not seem to find a good dentist to listen to me. She said "I have just the dentist for you!" and handed me your card. I remembered seeing your advertisement on 'Extreme Makeover' on television and though I was interested and intrigued, I thought to myself there was no way I could afford this. But my co-worker said to me, Just go - you won't be sorry. My nervous trepidation was immediately put at ease as the friendly pleasant voice of your receptionist scheduled an appointment for a complimentary evaluation promptly. I was impressed with the ambience of the office that did not smell or look clinical but relaxing and pleasing to the eye. I did not have to wait long to be ushered in and was further impressed that you took your time to listen to me, did not seem to chastise me for being less than an ideal dental client in the past and patiently answered my many questions. As you mapped out a plan of treatment for my smile, I was also pleased when you discussed ways of adjusting my bite to see if we could rid me of me lifelong headaches that had plagued me frequently. Then the dreaded question - the cost. You had an answer for that too in that you worked with me to tailor a plan that was affordable for me. I remember walking - no, floating - out the door that day with the feeling of hope in a long time that I could feel normal again. As an educator in the medical field I was impressed by your desire to always improve on your knowledge base with the latest technologies and techniques. It is apparent that you love what you do and I can attest that you are great at what you try to achieve for your clients. I know I was not the easiest of patients with my anxiety, many questions and requests but you met each question and challenge from me with patience and professionalism and never made me feel like I was a bother to you and your staff. You pampered me with the aroma therapy candles, paraffin wax hand dips, lap blanket and heated neck pillow to relax me. You called me personally at the end of the day to check on me and I knew I had found a really special person then. When the treatment plan was finished, I was overcome with emotion over my beautiful smile. Not only that but I have only had one or two mild headaches in the past year! Now again people are saying to me, What a beautiful smile you have! I wish mine was like that. To this I respond, I have just the dentist for you! as I hand them your card... Thank you, thank you, thank you for instilling my confidence back to me, making me feel beautiful and especially for helping me to laugh out loud unabashedly again!

Sincerely,

Debbie Johnson, RN/CHPN

Dear Dr. Hodgins,

Qudos to you and your entire staff for all of your help in transforming my life. What you have done for me is nothing short of a miracle. For the first time in many years I am not ashamed to smile and I owe it all to you and your awesome staff. I have been unhappy about my teeth and smile for quite some time. My unattractive smile robbed me of my confidence and outgoing personality. Because of neglect and what i later found out to be partly due to heredity my teeth started to deteriorate. A natural smile becamevery difficult. I would turn away to smile or smile without showing my teeth and sometimeseven resulted to shielding my smile with my hand. It was such an embarrassment. I became a different person. One evening while viewing a makeover show on television your name and number flashed on the screen. I actually remembered the number in my head and made a call the very next day to set an appointment for a consultation. I had nothing to lose but maybe, just maybe a chance at regaining my once beautiful smile. After the consultation what I thought was impossable could now become a reality. Your knowledge and willingness to address all of my concerns put me right at ease. The thought of getting dentures was a little scary but because of your gentleness, patience and guidance I knew I was in very capable hands. To my suprise what could have been a traumatic experience was actually enlightening and rewarding. The end result exceeded even my greatest expectations. I now have renewed confidence and a beautiful set of pearly whites. And for that I offer you my most humble thanks and sincerest gratitude. Your kindness and genuine care and concern is truly refreshing. You are a rare breed. Much success to you and your wonderful staff.

Dear Dr. Hodgins,

I’m not sure I can find words strong enough to express my gratitude to you and your amazing staff. I have never met a more professional, knowledgeable, and kind group of people.

As you are aware, I have not seen a dentist in many years due to trauma in my personal life. From my very first phone call to your office, I was treated with kindness and understanding by your staff. The first person I spoke with was Jennifer, who is an absolute delight. This goes far beyond any technical skills that may be required to be a dental hygienist. She is amazing.

When I had to return to face a procedure which, for me, was the most likely to trigger flashbacks and an anxiety attack, Dawn worked with me. Her technical skills are excellent, but her ability to cope with the emotional reaction I had makes her 'one in a million'. When I told you she deserves a raise, that was not just the Nitrous Oxide speaking! It was also not lost on me that Jennifer came out and chatted with me in the waiting room that morning. That is the place where anxiety can build up, and she managed to keep that from being a problem for me.

When I first met you, your calm, gentle approach immediately eased some of my tension. I feel that you really understand that this can be difficult for some people, and you go the extra mile to explain what is going to happen and find out what can be done to make it less uncomfortable for the patient.

I don’t know if your staff has been to additional training, or if you just managed to find the right people for the job, but you truly have an extraordinary team. I have had a very positive experience with every single person I’ve come in contact with at the The Dentist’s Studio.

I have highly recommended you to my co-workers and friends, and several of them have asked for your contact information, so you can expect some new patients soon.

Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart!

My decision to find a dental cosmetologist was filled with trepidation not only did I want experts in the field, I needed a staff that understood my fears of the dentist chair and how to make me as calm as possible. My experience with the Dentist Studio was as if they could have read my mind and understood my fears. The staff was amazing at making me comfortable and my results are fantastic. I have recommended them to my friends who have had the same great experience. Testimonial of a Coward…

Dr. Hodgins and Staff,

My story starts about 17 years ago; I was born with a deformed jaw and decided to have elective surgery, which is called a mandibular osteotomy. This is where they cut the jawbone on both sides and shift the bone forward to give me a chin per say and correct a large underbite. Also they implanted a prosthetic chin too. Before all this I had teeth removed and wore braces for a year. Then had my teeth wired shut for two months to let the bones heal, and all this at 35 years old. This helped enormously with my bite and my profile. But, the drawback from braces was ware on the teeth and I was still plagued with cracks and some fillings in front teeth that were very discolored. I went to several dentists who sent me back and forth for root canals and also said that my old root canals needed to be redone. This was news that didn't go well seeing I am very claustrophobic. And, prone to anxiety attacks. I haven't always been this way but it has gotten much worse. So, after the news about the root canals, I stopped going to the dentist. This was a bad idea of course. Then Extreme Makeover came about and I saw all those great people having teeth restoration that just floored me. I thought long and hard and went on line to see if there was anyone in my area who did cosmetic dentistry.  And yes, my lucky day, I came across Dr. Zach Hodgins. I looked at several other Dentists but just kept going back, the catch was that he did sedation dentistry which is what I needed to get this done. I sent an email to the website for my complimentary visit on Friday and had an appointment on Monday. And wow what a visit, X-rays, photos and all done by a proficient staff, all great personalities and fantastic work ethics. They all made me feel very comfortable, no matter what. And then the great news, that I could have full restoration done and under sedation. Dr. Hodgins was very understanding and said they would work with me to get things done. The decision to do several more sessions instead of two or three was because of my bad TMJ (temporomandibular joints). This was fine with me, I just wanted a normal smile. I was also a little concerned about sedation, so I checked out the credentials of Dr. Hodgins and the staff and made sure that I would be monitored with an EKG and O2 monitor. Being an Interventional Technologist, I have been exposed to a lot of diagnostic exams being done under conscious sedation, and knew it was safe. And was sedated when I had my many root canals and of course the dreaded colonoscopy when I turned 50. My husband has supported me all the way, and always said he loved my smile the way it was and saw nothing wrong with it. But, it was much different in my eyes looking in the mirror and seeing pictures of myself. So after several visits, I had a temporary smile that was pretty, but nothing to compare with the smile I have now. WOW! I am a Radiology Technologist by trade but have been doing applications training all over the world, meeting all kinds of people. Now, there is no more being self-conscious of my smile and I know I smile a lot more. Also, I attend a lot of trade shows for medical x-ray equipment and everyone who sees me says I look great and want to know what I have done. I just say it’s the new smile! I intend to keep up my visits with. Dr. Hodgins, the staff has always been the best, always know my name, and make sure I am comfortable.

So, to Dr. Hodgins and all the staff, Dawn, Renae, Tessie, Jennifer, JoAnn, and Veronica...

Thank you so much for all the special care! You are all truly the best at what you do!

Dr. Hodgins & staff,

I’m writing this note to thank you and your staff for Saturday, 2/9/08, in which you donated your time and helped many people in our community of Central Fl.

We (husband, son & myself) were there all day into the evening until my son was seen for an extraction, which was more than a routine extraction. However, the dentist did not give up.

Your staff was very polite and professional throughout the day.

Thank you again for your generosity.
